Columbia University Ed Tech Design Challenge 2018

A partnership of Columbia Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Design, the School of International and Public Affairs, Center for Development Economics and Policy, Fundação Lemann and the Rio Global Center.

The Columbia University Ed Tech Design Challenge is a semester-long initiative where 12 students from across Columbia University will act as intrapreneurs and work with clients in Brazil to tackle systemic challenges in the education sector. From January 13-18th, students will travel to Brazil for in-depth exploration, need-finding, idea generation and prototyping. Students will be enrolled in a Semester Long SIPA course at the Design Studio where they will form teams to further develop their design interventions. In May, teams will pitch their final ideas to their clients, and the winning team will receive $25,000 for further developing their intervention.
